Georgia Center for the Book and A Cappella Books host a celebration of National Book Award-winning poet,James Dickey to mark the publication of The Complete Poems of James Dickey. The event will feature readings of Dickey’s poems by editor Ward Briggs, Bronwen Dickey, John Lane, and former Georgia Poet Laureate, David Bottoms. BYOBB Fundraiser for Java Monkey and Art Amok Slam Teams
Bring Your Own Blanket and Bottle for the fundraiser to help Atlanta's two teams attend the National Poetry Slam in Boston. Your blanket and $5 gets you in and feel free to bring your own libations. House opens at 7:45 and poems at 8 p.m. There will be a silent auction and the poets will have merchandise for purchase. Poets reading will include Stephanie Morey, Jon Alexander Watford-Scott, Shyla Hardwick, Gabe Moses, Hillary Kobernick Watson, Karen Garrabrant, Marques 'Quez' Linly, Tawny Powell, Andrew Crigler, Mistafunn and host Theresa Davis. George Edward Tait: Poetry Writing Workshop & Reading 
Central Library, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System
George Edward Tait, Poet Laureate of Harlem, will teach a free poetry-writing workshop followed by a poetry reading at the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System’s Central Library, 1 Margaret Mitchell Square in Downtown Atlanta. Many of Tait’s poems and articles have appeared in numerous publications, such as the New York Amsterdam News, the Def Poetry Jam Anthology Bum Rush: The Page and At Arms.
