Join amateur and professional poets alike as Callanwolde celebrates the art and performance of poetry with its open mic poetry reading night in the unique setting of the Callanwolde Library. Poets who would like to share their original poetry are welcome. Readings are open to the first ten poets who call and sign up. Beginning May 8, call 404-872-5338 ext. 228. Lebanese poet Hedy Habra will give two readings in Atlanta from her recent collections, Flying Carpet and Tea in Heliopolis. The first reading is at the Phoenix & The Dragon, 5531 Roswell Road, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15. Decatur Book Festival
The annual event will feature appearances by a stellar line up of featured poets including Richard Blanco, Ward Briggs, Jericho Brown, Theresa Davis, Bronwen Dickey, Denise Duhamel, Kodac Harrison, Collin Kelley, David Kirby, Jee Leong Koh, Esther Lee, David Lehman, Ed Madden, Maurice Manning, Pablo Miguel Martínez, Adrian Matejka, Laura McCullough, Carl Phillips, Chelsea Rathburn, Megan Volpert and Kevin Young.
