Loose Change Anniversary
Loose Change, WonderRoot’s literary magazine, will mark its first year of publication this summer with Paper Anniversary, an open-invitation party celebrating the close of Volume I (and rise of Volume II) with a night of live art, music and dancing ‘til the wee hours. Paper Anniversary unfolds at 8:30 p.m., Friday, August 12, at Kavarna Coffee House on Decatur’s Oakhurst Square. Five of the magazine’s published writers will headline the evening with readings from Year One. Attendees are also encouraged to create and share their own word-based art during the event itself: Loose Change is partnering with Creative ReUse, a fellow offshoot project of WonderRoot dedicated to environmentally conscious art-making, presenting literary contests and interactive art for all. The evening will begin and end with music, wrapping up with a DJ set until close and featuring food and drink specials for hungry/thirsty revelers. The next Loose Change submission deadline is September 2, 2011. All forms of poetry, prose, non-fiction, and more are welcome. For more information on Paper Anniversary and submitting to Loose Change, visit www.loosechangemagazine.org.
