The Write Room literary magazine sponsors an open mic of poetry, prose, and music the first Tuesday of each month. Writers, poets, and musicians of all genres are welcome and participation is encouraged. Play Pens provide a casual, supportive, and fun atmosphere where those in the arts community can meet, perform, and network. SUMMER COFFEEHOUSE SERIES
OPEN MIC POETRY READING
Callanwolde’s popular summertime coffee house series returns with live music, coffee and refreshments and open-mic poetry readings. Held in the unique setting of the Callanwolde Library, the evening begins at 7:30 with live acoustic music and at 8:15 the open mic readings are open to poets who would like to read their original poetry. This month's special musical guest is local spoken word and music legend Kodac Harrison. The first ten poets to call and sign up at 404-872-5338 ext. 228 will read for 5 minutes.
