DEAD POETS GRAND TOUR
DECATUR CEMETERY
Poets are encouraged to come and read a poem by one of their favorite deceased poets as part of the Dead Poets Grand Tour, which is visiting historic sites and cemeteries around the country. The event is in the historic Decatur Cemetery near the grave of Thomas Holley Chivers, the Georgia doctor and poet who was a friend of Edgar Allen Poe. South Carolina Poet Laureate Majory Wentworth will be reading during the event, which is being filmed as part of documentary. Press 53 presents an evening of poetry featuring Charleston poet Linda Annas Ferguson, poet laureate of South Carolina Marjory Heath Wentworth, Atlanta poet Alexa Selph, Macon poet Austin Segrest, and poet laureate of Georgia, David Bottoms.
